This document is a children's book titled "Square-There's a Fire on the Mountain." It describes a game played by children called "There's a fire on the mountain. Run, run!" which they shout when starting games. The story then takes a turn as a real fire breaks out on the mountain, depicted as a terrible blaze. People are forced to flee, grabbing their belongings like books and bags as they escape the smoke and flames. The narrative highlights a transition from a playful scenario to a real emergency, emphasizing the urgency and chaos of such events. The book is written by Kirsty Paxton, adapted by Gweni Hetzel, and illustrated by Julie Smith-Belton, with design by Nadene Reignier and editing by Margot Bertelsmann. It is also available as a 'Talking Book' which can be read and listened to on phones or tablets through the 'Talking Books' app. The publication originates from Papua New Guinea and is part of the Bloom book layout series focused on 'Education for Life.' The story uses simple language suitable for young readers, incorporating both English and potentially a local language, as indicated by the phrase "Paia kirap long maunten. Ranawe!" which is presented alongside the English translation. The imagery, as suggested by the illustrations, likely depicts the children's game and the subsequent escape from the fire.
