FAQs

What is the main purpose of technical drawings in SP 46(2003)?

Technical drawings are presented as an essential component for exchanging goods, services, and information. They clarify ambiguities and help communicate instructions across different languages and contexts.

How do technical drawings support exchange of goods and services?

For goods, they are used alongside service diagrams or other drawings that show components, assembly, and use. For services, drawings help communicate instructions or advice, such as in consultancy or design for construction.

Why does SP 46(2003) emphasize internationally unified methods and symbols?

It explains that progress in standardization and international cooperation, including foreign technology introduction and export, makes unified methods and symbols necessary for consistent engineering drawing communication.
