Two Key Steps for Sourcing | | | | --- | --- | --- | | 1. Suppliers must be Certified
Your direct supplier or contractor (the company that invoices you) must hold a valid FSC certificate with correct product scope.
You can verify this in FSC Public Search.
2. Invoice / Delivery Documentation must be Complete & Accurate
On receipt, confirm the following:
The correct FSC claim (e. g., FSC 100%, FSC Mix X%, FSC Recycled) is specified
The supplier’s FSC CoC/CW certificate is quoted (e. g., XXXCOC-00xxxx)
Item descriptions and quantities match | | | |
• | Note and investigate any discrepancies
See example of delivery note. | | Tips: To ensure FSC compliance, specify all FSC requirements (product, claim, and supplier obligations) directly in your tenders and purchase orders. This ensures accuracy and simplifies future audits. Project Certification — Sourcing in a Nutshell One-time projects: Non-certified project members may source, install, or process FSC-certified materials under signed agreements, but must buy from valid FSC-certified suppliers and keep claim documents. Continuous certification: Project members that source inputs must be FSC-or project-certified. In all cases: The organisation must verify supplier validity and product scope in Public Search, and check FSC claims on invoice / delivery documents.
