What steps are required to set and thread the needle?

To set the needle, raise the needlebar to its highest point, loosen the thumb screw, insert the needle with its flat side to the right, and retighten the screw. To thread, turn the balance wheel toward you until the lever is at its highest, then route the thread through the specified tension, guards, hook, and guides down to the eye of the needle.
