Sep 29, 2026

Should Kids Get Allowance? explores how children learn money management through weekly or monthly allowance. The chapter explains two ways allowance is commonly given: without requiring chores, or in return for completing chores to earn payment. It also highlights findings from T. Rowe Price about parents’ allowance habits over time and presents expert viewpoints on whether allowances support early financial education or whether earning them matters for developing good habits.
