FAQs

How do you wind the bobbin on the specified sewing machine models?

Release the clutch knob toward you, draw thread from the spool through the bobbin winding tension discs, place the bobbin on the winding spindle until it clicks, then hold the thread end and start the machine until the bobbin stops. Remove the bobbin, clip the thread, and turn the clutch knob away while holding the hand wheel.

What are the key steps to prepare the top thread correctly?

Raise the take-up lever to its highest position and raise the pressers foot. Place the spool on the spool pin with thread coming from the back, draw thread through the thread guide, route it through the tension area and check spring holder, pass through the take-up lever, into the needle bar thread guide, then thread the needle from front to back.

How is top tension checked and adjusted?

Set the top thread tension control to 3 and raise the pressers foot, then pass the thread between tension discs and around the check spring holder before lowering the foot and bringing the thread up. Top tension should be 65–95 g when pulling the thread in the direction labeled B; adjust the nut direction based on whether the tension is too tight or too loose, then recheck.
