FAQs

What software and drivers are required to start working with the Ruby RISC-V SoC?

The guide lists required Efinity software, the RISC-V SDK installation, and Java JRE, and it includes steps for installing USB drivers and setting up environment variables for Eclipse.

How do I program the board using the Ruby RTL design example?

The guide describes an example design overview, enabling a 10 MHz on-board oscillator, installing USB drivers, and then programming the development board from the provided steps.

How is debugging handled in the Ruby SoC workflow?

The guide instructs how to debug using the OpenOCD debugger, including importing the debug configuration and performing the debug steps.

What customization options are available for creating a custom RTL or software design?

The guide covers creating your own RTL design, including targeting another FPGA/board, updating FTDI drivers, adding custom AXI4 slave or APB3 peripherals, adjusting DDR/I2C usage, removing unused peripherals, and then deploying your own application binary.
