Between this surge and its associated technological considerations, psychologists are facing unprecedented changes in business practices and skill sets. The proliferation of online therapy services raises important ethical, legal, and business concerns for providers—especially given the push to increase access to and reimbursement for digital therapeutics. Momentum also is gaining speed to give psychologists prescriptive authority, amidan alarming rise in adults with anxiety and depression. And recent cyberattacks on healthcare payors are putting practitioners on alert about how to protect their businesses—and their patients—from data breaches. This compilation of recent articles, reprinted from the Monitor on Psychology and other APA publications, delves into crucial aspects of advancing one’s practice amidst an ever-changing landscape of challenges and opportunities. In this dynamic environment, psychologists must remain well-informed and flexible to uphold the integrity of their businesses within an increasingly digital sphere.
