The Dyna 2000 has cight built-in adv:nce curves which h:ve becn optimized to cover the needs of stock cngincs tohighly mocificd engincs over a varicty of operating conditions. There are four independent rev limiter choices from6000 to 7500 rpm, allowing you to set the exact protcction level you nced. In addlition to the svitch-selected curves and rev linits, the Dyna 2000has a tuner-defined curve that is completclyprogrammable with the Curvemaker Programming kit, with rear cylinder offsct, and rev limit with 50 rpm resoluton.Rcfer to the Curvcmaker Programming instructions for more dctails. The Dyna 2000 is triggered directly from the stock Hall effect pickup found on the camshaft of all late mode!Harleys.Earlicr model bikes without factory clcctronic ignition can also use the Dyna 2000 by instralling a pickupfrom any late model bike. A scparate tach output is includedon the Dyna 2000 to allow correct tach operation during rev liniting and when insingle fire mode. Two diagnostic LED indicators arc included on the back of the ignition module to assist in troubleshooting and static timing. If you have a bike that does not have al ignition harness that can be unplugged fron the ignition module (pre 1990),use Iynatek P/N 1009001 Dyna 2000-HD extension harness with module number DD2000-HD2F to copletethe ignition wiring. The stock pickup asscmbly cousists of two pieces,a scnsor plate and a rotating cup attached to the camshat.Therotating cup usedon 198.3 :d l:ater Ilarleys has part number 32+02-83st:mped on it and is gold in color. This is thecorrect cup to use with the Iyna 2000.Pre 1983 clectronic igrnition bikcs have a silver colorcd cup with diffirentwindow widrhs. The Dyna 2000advance curves will not work propcrly with the:old cup design. If you have onc ofthese older ctps, get ia newer cup wirh the above part numbcr from your Harley dealer. Any of the sensor plates procltced from 1983 onwill work with the Dyna 2000.Bikes originally cquipped with points(exccpt distrihutors)or carly clectronic ignition(Prestolite)will accept the later model scnsor and cup withoutmodification.Sensor plate number 32400-80A is typical CurveMaker Connection To download a uscr-dcfined curve or rcad the diagnostic data, unplug the ignition from the bike's harness andcoect the adapter cable. To maxiize battery lite, connect the 9volt battery only while using the download cable.Refer to the Curvemaker Programming instructions for more details. ## Installation Reconencded Coil:Use one dual utput coil with a primary resist:atce of 2.8

FAQs

What does the Dyna 2000 ignition system upgrade provide?

It is a plug-in upgrade for late-model Harley electronic advance ignition, using microcomputer control to manage the full ignition process with more precise timing control.

How do the rev limiter and advance curves work on the Dyna 2000?

The system includes multiple rev limiter choices and built-in advance curves optimized for different operating conditions, plus a tuner-defined programmable curve using the Curvemaker kit.

What wiring and parts considerations are emphasized during installation?

Use suppression spark plug wires with specified resistance to reduce radio-frequency interference, ensure correct pickup sensor plate/cup components for Hall effect triggering, and use an extension harness when the original ignition module cannot be unplugged.
