# PRESIDENT’S COLUMN by Eloise Harbeson On September 9,the Caucus ReviewCommittee composed of Phyllis GrayFLA Treasurer;Verna Nistendirk,Exee-utive Secretary;Bernadette Storck,Di-rector;and myself as President, met inTallahassee to review the Caueus andCommittee requests for funds and pro-gram assignments.Believe me,this wasno small task, for the requests for fundsfar exceeded the expected income of theassociation, and the requests for con-ference space exceeded the number ofrooms available at the hotel. The Commit-tee worked the entire day in an effort toresolve some of the conflicts so that arecommendation could be made to theExecutive Board for its fall meeting.Though the final requests will obviouslynot suit everyone,it was the committee'sgoal to try to fairly and equitably distrib-ute funds and to make available to themembership a stimulating and worthwhileconference. The Exeeutive Board will be meetingin St.Petersburg at the Hilton Hotel onSept.22,and at that time, after earefuldeliberation, the entire board will makethe fina allocation of funds and finalize theplans for the annual conference. # THREEJOHN COTTON DANAAWARDS FOR FLORIDA The 31st annual John Cotton DanaLibrary Publie Relations Awards weregiven to three libraries in Florida amongother nationwide winners.
