FAQs

What should centres do before grades are submitted?

Centres should ensure they have shared sufficient process information with students and parents, confirm all students have notified mitigating circumstances, verify subject teams followed centre procedures for evidence and grading, and check for procedural or administrative errors in grade submissions.

What guidance applies after grades are submitted?

Centres should prepare evidence and documentation so staff responsible for centre reviews and appeals can access it, and be ready to share how grades were determined on results day if not already done.

How do centre reviews and awarding organisation appeals work?

Centres should use JCQ appendices, including Appendix B for student requests and an evidence checklist in Appendix C. If an error is found through a centre review, centres should request a grade correction from Pearson, following JCQ guidance before submitting.
