Plant Ecology - Unit 1 - Ecology: Types and Importance, the Earth Environment

Oct 4, 2026

Plant Ecology unit 1 presents an organized introduction to ecology, its major types, and why the field is important for understanding environmental systems. It explains ecology as the science of relationships among organisms, their habitat, and living and non-living factors. The unit also describes Earth’s environment through biosphere, atmosphere, hydrosphere, and lithosphere. It further includes India-focused ecology coverage, along with summary, glossary, references, suggested readings, and self-assessment/terminal questions.
