PISA 2025 assesses how 15-year-old students across 91 countries and economies are prepared for future learning, drawing on more than 760 000 participants. The cycle prioritises science while also covering reading and mathematics, plus an innovative digital-world learning assessment and an optional English as a foreign language component. Results show uneven progress: declines since 2022, with especially steep drops in reading, and persistent gaps for low performers. Science remains comparatively more resilient over the decade.
