My Monster and Me is a gentle, comforting children's picture book written by Nadiya Hussain and illustrated by Ella Bailey. The narrative explores the experience of childhood anxiety by personifying worries as a constant, ever-present monster that follows the protagonist. Through poetic and accessible prose, the story depicts the physical and emotional impact of these worries on a child's life while offering a poignant message about acceptance and learning to manage those feelings. It serves as a valuable resource for helping children identify, share, and ultimately find ways to live alongside their anxieties. The story illustrates that while a monster might seem large and overwhelming, it does not have to define one's identity or limit one's ability to navigate the world. The book provides a safe and empathetic space for young readers to process complex emotions in a relatable, supportive manner.
