Armor And Shield cAptAin AerAd’S Shield Armor (shield), legendary (requires attunement) Once this shield protected the dwarven hero Aerad of Ammarindar. Now sages say it likely rests in what remains of Hellgate Keep. Legends say that Captain Aerad’s shield could shatter any weapon that struck it, but in fact it is an adamantine shield. Its legendary weapon-breaking prowess was a function of the adamantine and the crude bronze weapons that Aerad’s foes that shattered against it, not powerful magic within the shield itself. While holding this shield, you have a +2 bonus to your AC. In addition, any critical hit against you becomes a normal hit. drAgonheArt Armor Armor (scale), legendary (requires attunement) Masters of lore say that this dwarf-sized suit of red dragonhide scale mail was made for and worn by one of the last kings of Ammarindar. While you wear it, you have a +1 bonus to your AC. In addition, you have resistance to fire damage. MORE TREASURES OFFAERÛN WeAponS WeApon SpeciAl AbilitieS Just as some armor and shields can have special magical abilities, so can weapons. This increases the rarity of the item by one degree, and if the regular item doesn’t require attunement, conferring the special ability means the modified item requires attunement. Dispelling. When you score a hit on an attack roll you make with a dispelling weapon, as part of the attack you can cast dispel magic on the target as though you cast it using a 3rd-level spell slot, but without expending a spell slot or using components. Once you use this ability, you can’t use it again until you finish a long rest. Dispelling, Greater. A greater dispelling weapon’s rarity can be no less than very rare. When you cast dispel magic using it, you do so as though you used a 5th-level spell slot, but without expending a spellslot or using components. Once you use this ability, you can’t use it again until you finish a long rest. Domineering. When you score a hit on an attack roll you make with a domineering weapon, the target must succeed on a DC 16 Wisdom saving throw or become incapacitated until the beginning of your next turn. Doomwarding. The church of Tymora especially favors these weapons and sometimes bestows one on an adventurer follower of the Lady of Luck. A doomwarding weapon has 7 charges. When you take the Attack action with it, you can expend a charge to make an extra attack with it as part of that action. In addition, you can use your reaction and expend 1 charge to reroll any die. You must use the new roll. The weapon regains 1d6 + 1 expended charges daily at dawn. If you expend the weapon’s last charge, roll ad20 . On a 1, the weapon crumbles into ashes and is destroyed. Spellblade. A spellblade weapon grants you immunity to a single spell chosen at the time the weapon is enchanted. The spell must be one that specifically targets you. When you’re targeted with the spell, the weapon absorbs and dissipates it. WeAponS bAneblAdeS of demron Weapon (sword), legendary (requires attunement) There are six powerful swords known as the baneblades of Demron. They were created over the course of 300 years by a cabal of smiths in Myth Drannor led by the archmage Demron. Each of the blades was keyed to one particular type of wielder; only members of a specific race or class can attune to a given baneblade. If a creature of an inappropriate race and/or class attunes to a baneblade, it becomes a nonmagical weapon as long as that creature is attuned to it. All baneblades are holy avengers. Individual baneblades also each have their own additional powers, as described below. Unless otherwise noted, each power of a baneblade is activated by a command word. Evaelathil. This short sword is usable only by halflings. It glows with a soft green light. Evaelathil grants you resistance to fire damage. In addit
