FAQs

What does Monstrous Races Addendum: Larger Players add to the original Monstrous Races rules?

It adds rules and mechanisms for playing player characters of sizes larger than Medium, addressing the original series’ omission of large or larger player character rules.

What considerations does the document suggest for using large player characters in a campaign?

It recommends weighing potential consequences, since characters that are Huge compared to a mostly Medium party may struggle with simple tasks like moving through crowds or entering buildings, and groups can choose how much of that becomes part of the fun.

How is a character’s maximum size determined in these rules?

The maximum size is determined by the monster entry the racial traits are based on; the original creature’s size sets the racial maximum, and player characters can advance to that size but not beyond using options in the document.
