FAQs

What are the major components of the Mendes 2001 AutoScoring System?

The system includes the player’s console (with monitors, keyboards, and autoscoring electronics), the intercom (optional/installation dependent), optional overhead units with color monitors and COAX video channels, the pinsetter electronic control unit with interface units per pinsetter, and the pin detector and ball detector systems.

How does the pin detection system work in different configurations?

For normal installations with free fall machines, a CCD pin detector camera is used. For many string machines (not all), the system can read the pin fall directly from the machine and translate that information into autoscoring data using specially designed electronics.

Are interfaces to a manager’s control system covered in this documentation?

No. The interface to a manager’s control system is not covered because it is quoted as a separate item in all cases.
