Poetry collection excerpt narrating the Innkeeper’s first Christmas, beginning with a crowded census scene and the stress of having no room for Mary and Joseph. The poem reflects on the stable’s refuge, shepherds and wise men, and the innkeeper’s later wonder. It connects the Nativity to Luke 2:6-7 and bridges “2000 years later” with a call to accept Christ, find hope, and trust God’s message today.

A couple from Nazareth here at my door, I'm sorry we're full, there's no room for one more. But the woman's with child and her time has now come,I can't let them go and so what's to be done? The stable is free;I can let them stay there, though it's not ideal,of that I′m aware. But at least it will make sure they're out of the cold, for the poor lass is beat and she's not very old. Her child is a son and he's such a fine boy,I'm sure he'll do well, bring his parents real joy. Now some shepherds appear, they've seen angels they say-Oh,what a miracle,oh what a day! And here are some wise men, they've travelled far,to worship this child, they have followed a star. They've brought him fine gifts for they say he's a king,He was born in my stable who'd have thought such a thing! I'm no
