Oct 13, 2026

Thanksgiving on Thursday presents Jack and Annie traveling in their Magic Tree House to the year 1621 to celebrate the first Thanksgiving with the Pilgrims and the Wampanoag Indians in the New Plymouth Colony. The opening materials and reader notes describe how research reshapes the meaning of the holiday, highlighting it as a multi-day harvest celebration rather than a single day of thanks. I love doing the research for Magic TreeHouse books because I always learn somethingnew.I hope you'll learn lots ofnew things, too, when you visit the “first Thanksgiving”with Jackand Annie.
