In these • Aluminium mid planks without kick rails situations, building structures and cladding can benefit from the corrosion resistance feature of aluminium alloys. Its light weight • Aluminium plank joining strips also provides a structural benefit. • Aluminium angles Coastal bulk material handling plants such as coal, sugar and • Aluminium round bar grain loaders, as well as water storage reservoirs, agricultural storage sheds, power stations etc. , all have high corrosion risk • Screw and rivet fixings structures. Now architects, builders and engineers can extend • Nylon grommet washers the application of aluminium beyond the external cladding and windows to include the support framing and flooring as well. • Tremco isolation tape The PERMALITE® Floor Plank design provides an industrial floor • Aluminium checker plate system capable of carrying 5 kPa traffic loads and is especially Applications useful in containing dust particles and preventing falling objects from contaminating environmentally sensitive areas below. FAQs

What environments is the aluminium floor plank system designed for?

The document highlights use in adverse conditions such as marine and severe industrial corrosive environments, including applications like coal loading conveyor galleries, mezzanine floors, reservoirs, and storage sheds.

What aluminium alloy and temper are used for the floor plank shapes?

The floor plank shapes are produced in a structural aluminium alloy 6060 T5, chosen for high strength and excellent resistance to atmospheric corrosion, especially for marine and corrosive environments.

What installation and product handling precautions are recommended?

Sections should be delivered in strapped bundles and the document advises unpacking and drying if product becomes wet. It also recommends avoiding contact with moisture, cement dust, lime, or abrasive dust, and stacking off the ground, covered, and with a slight slope for drainage.
