The news of the discovery spread fast all over the country, and inquisitive enquiries mingled with congratulations from this moment became the daily programme. — Howard Carter This is an expansion of the “Lost Mine of Phandelver” Original Product and notably of the“Old Owl Well” encounter in “Part Three: The Spider’s Web”. Running the adventure This adventure could be useful if: • Your party is under strength in comparison to the usual 4 – 6 PCs and you wish for them to acquire more experience before they reach out for the final confrontation with the Black Spider, • Your party is over strength and you wish to add additional challenge to existing encounters, • You have already played the introductory module and you wish to give it a different twist for more re-playability, • You wish to expand upon the Old Owl Well encounter for which a map is not provided in the Original Boxed Set. Furthermore, this module offers plot leads and/or foreshadows events which could lead your campaign to pursue toward two other Original Products: • Storm King’s Thunder. See area \#13 of“Dungeon Ruined Section” paragraph. • Out of the Abyss. See area \#1 of “Dungeon Ruined Section” paragraph, as well as the description of Stickk’s role and motivations. Knowledge of the location of the mine soon became lost. Recent History For centuries, rumors of buried riches have attracted treasure seekers to the area around Phandalin, but no one has ever succeeded in locating the lost mine.
