Chapter 1 : The Nature of Divinity What is a God? In the multiverse of D& D, a god is more than just a powerful being; they are often the embodiment of concepts, forces, or ideals. Their existence can shape reality, grant immense power, and inspire countless followers. The origin of a god can profoundly influence their nature, their relationship with mortals, and their place in the cosmos, defining their inherent strengths, weaknesses, and even their long-term goals. ● Source of Power: ○ Conceptual Embodiment: A god might simply be the concept they represent. This often occurs after a heroic sacrifice that resonates across the planes, the completion of an impossible quest that fundamentally alters reality, or the accumulation of enough worship and belief to elevate them beyond the bounds of mortality. These gods tend to retain some semblance of their mortal personality, memories, and even their former race or physical appearance, which can make them more relatable to mortal followers. Conversely, they might also be more prone to mortal flaws like vanity, vengefulness, or favoritism, sometimes holding grudges from their mortal lives or blessing specific bloodlines they once belonged to. Their worship often focuses on their heroic deeds, the specific path they took to divinity, or the ideals they championed in life. These deities might actively seek t
