Kuttu is a cheerful pup living on a farm near a forest, spending his days playing with animals. When night falls, darkness and quiet fill the farm, and Kuttu feels afraid and can’t sleep. He searches for comfort by walking toward a flickering lantern, but encounters Oola the Owl and Baawra the Bat, who both love the night. Their stories of moonlight and stars slowly change Kuttu’s perspective.

Kuttu spent his day playing and jumping around in the farm. He tickled the piglet with his tail. Splash! Kuttu leaped in the pond to float with the ducklings. He chased the rabbits till they rushed into their holes. But when night fell, Kuttu felt scared. Tonight, the farm was filled with darkness except for a lantern that flickered in a close distance. The birds chirped no more. The piglets retired to their cosy little bed made of hay. The chicks cuddled in their mother’swings and slept in peace. But Kuttu could not close his eyes. His mother slept close to him. But Kuttu lay wide awake. The darkness and the quietness of the night scared him. Kuttu looked at the lantern that hung in a shed.'There's light in that shed', he thought to himself,'Perhaps that place will make me feel better. 'Kuttu walked towards the shed. Kuttu had barely taken a few steps towards the lantern when he noticed a pair of shining eyes on the tree. 'Who are you?' asked Kuttu. 'I am Oola, the Owl. ' 'Isn't it so dark here?' asked Kuttu. 'I don't think so. I love the night. It is in the darkness of the night that I can keep my eyes wide-open and hunt for food for myself,' hooted Oola. 'But I am too scared of the darkness,' Kuttu whined.'Oh! Why? The darkness is so delightful. It is in the darkness that the moon shines like a big white ball and the stars twinkle in the night sky. ' ‘WHOOOOO—’ Oola hooted looking at the dazzling sky. Kuttu sighed and walked away. As he moved closer to the lantern, a black creature flew past Kuttu, flapping its giant wings. 'Who are you?' asked Kuttu. 'I am Baawra, the Bat. ' 'Isn't it so dark here?' asked Kuttu. 'I don't think so. I love the night. It is in the darkness of the night that I can zip back and forth across the lake. ' 'But I am too scared of the darkness,' whined Kuttu.'Oh! Why? The darkness is so delightful. It is in the darkness that you can reach the stars!' SWOOOOP! Baawra zipped off to a tree and hung upside down. Kuttu sighed and walked away.
