FAQs

What are terminating, repeating, and nonterminating decimals?

Terminating decimals end after a finite number of digits, repeating decimals repeat a pattern, and nonterminating decimals do not end and may not repeat.

How are rational and irrational numbers distinguished?

Rational numbers can be written in the form p/q with integers p and q≠0, while irrational numbers cannot be written that way and include values like π.

What vocabulary terms are included in Chapter P beyond real numbers?

The chapter also lists algebra and set-related terms such as absolute value, inverses, properties, number line, numerator/denominator, equations and inequalities, and concepts like polynomials and factoring.
