The diameter of the pan should match the element outline on the cooktop. Heat is transferred up through the surface to the cookware, and only flat-bottom cookware should be used. The type and size of cookware, the number of surface elements in use, and their settings will affect heat distribution. The radiant surface elements have a gradual temperature rise. They will glow red as they heat up, and cycling on and off maintains the selected setting. To maintain consistency, turn off the element several minutes before cooking is complete. Use the chart to determine the correct setting for the type of food you are preparing. The lower Simmer settings are ideal for delicate foods, while higher settings are better for stews and soups. Your model has a Dual radiant surface element in the right and left front positions. To operate it: 1 . Place correctly sized cookware on the dual surface element. 2. Turn the control knob counterclockwise to switch between single and dual surface elements. 1. For larger cookware, use the cookware rack clockwise (See Figure 3) . 2. Turn the knob to adjust the setting if needed. Start most cooking operations on a higher setting and then turn to a lower setting to finish cooking. 3. A glowing red surface heating area extending beyond the bottom edge of the cookware indicates the cookware is too small for the surface heating area. 4. When cooking has completed, turn the surface control knob to OFF before removing the cookware. 5. The Surface Indicator light will come on when the control knob will be turned on and will continue to glow until the glass cooktop has cooled down to a moderate level. 6. The Figure 3 light may remain on even though the controls are turned off. 7. Cookware material determines how evenly and quickly heat is transferred from the surface element to the pan bottom. 8. The most popular materials available are: Aluminum, Copper, Stainless Steel, Cast Iron, and Porcelain-Enamel on Metal. 9. Before Setting Oven Controls, allow 2-4”(5-10 cm) around the cookware for proper air circulation. 10. For best air circulation and baking results, ensure pans and cookware do not touch each other, the oven door, sides or the back of the oven cavity. 11. The control pad functions include: READ THE INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY BEFORE USING THE OVEN.
