Kande scolded them when she thought they weren’t working hard enough. ni tɛ kɔɔŋgi kɛ .Tuu tiiti li Kimaa li le ,“Ɛ nɛɛ mi wu mɛɛŋ ni yi yini. Mama didn’t like that. She said ,“Listen Kande , don’t scold your sisters , they are doing their best.” Bukɛɛŋ bamu bɛfɛ bɛ tɛ bo li kintutu ki bɛniiŋ bɛ mbeenchɛ tɛ dza be la ŋka lɛ Kimaa beeni. Wumu tɛ gii nuuŋ kwɛɛŋ wu nindi li yi yintsii, wumu se nuuŋ kwɛɛŋ wu tiiti muloŋ . Then two women from the local church came to visit. One was a health worker; the other was a great story teller. Be tɛ ̊ ni Kimaa ŋge be bɛ mɔɔ bɛ bijɛ benyɛ wu. Be tɛ to be lɛti ŋka li yi yini be tiitibiee mɔɔ muloŋ be feti bɛniiŋ kiiti. Kimaa setɛ nɛki ŋge fɛ tɛ ŋiŋgi si ni kiiti m̊ kwi lɛ . They started coming over often. They brought food and did a lot of Mama’s work. They joked and told stories. Kande was happy to see her mother laughing more often now.
