"Helloooooo?"Trixie knocked her hoofagain, growing impatient. It took all herwillpower to refrain from using aglittering smoke bomb to vanish andreappear inside. She was following therules.Twilight Sparkle loved rules.Sofirst she would knock. Then Trixie wouldbe welcomed into the Castle ofFriendship for an extended stay. Nopony knew she was coming. She usually parked her wagon near the castleand camped out.But this time,Trixiethought it might be nice to stay in thecomforts of a place that had more roomto stretch her hooves. It was a giganticcastle, for Celestia's sake! In truth,Trixie had not always gotten 2 * * * * along with Twilight. After all that hadtranspired between the duelling magicians, the two still saw each other assomepony to impress and simultaneouslychallenge.Even if one of the ponies was a‘princess'now.Trixie still couldn’t fathomthat Twilight had received the honourwhen the two of them really were quiteequal in talent and charisma. But finally,Trixie and Twilight Sparklehad something undeniably special incommon:their friendships with StarlightGlimmer.Trixie would never admit it outloud, but it felt wonderful to put therivalry to rest.Besides,Trixie reasoned, there was still plenty of time for PrincessCelestia to decree that Trixie was aprincess, too.Stranger things had happened in Equestria before;PrincessLuna had once been banished to the 3 ** ** moon,Discord had become friends withponykind and an entire horde ofChangelings had been taught to loveone another. It could happen. Trixie had just begun conjuring imagesof herself at her grand coronation whenthe heavy door swung open.A familiarmagical aura danced around its edges.Trixie perked up.She'd know that glowanywhere! It was exactly the pony shewanted to see-her new best friend andunexpected confidante,Starlight Glimmer.Trixie exhaled with relief at thefriendly face. “Trixie!”Starlight beamed."I didn'tknow you were going to be in Ponyville!”She lifted her hoof and gestured to thecavernous abode.“Come inside and havea slice of apple pie. It's been ages since * *4**
