At the Lord’s command, they left the desert of Sin. That was the place where the Lord had first given them quail and manna for food. Exactly two months after the Israelites left Egypt, they came to the desert of Sinai. They set up camp at the base of Mount Sinai. Then Moses climbed up the mountain to talk with God. The Lord called to him from the mountain. God told Moses to say to the people of Israel, “You saw what I did to the Egyptians. You saw how I carried you as an eagle carries her young on her wings, and brought you here to me.” “Now obey my voice and keep my covenant.”
