This technical document provides a detailed instructional guide for the installation of island venting systems for sinks, specifically adhering to the plumbing standards outlined in M.R. Chapter 4714, Section 909.1. The document includes a comprehensive technical diagram illustrating the required pipe configuration, including the use of 1/4 and 1/8 bends, wye branch fittings, and cleanouts. It emphasizes critical regulatory requirements such as maintaining proper drainage slopes of at least 1/4-inch per foot, ensuring vents run through the roof or connect above the flood-level rim, and positioning the vent peak as high as possible. The guide serves as a reference for plumbing contractors to ensure compliance with state plumbing codes, highlighting mandatory installation specifications such as the necessity of using drainage fittings for segments located below the floor. By following these precise engineering standards, professionals can achieve safe and compliant drainage for island-mounted fixtures.
