My agents captured him near the Hyralian Gulf in a desperate condition, having fled battle upon, of all creatures, a cicadron. The details of why herode a goblin mount remain obscure. This fortunate event brings clarity to my suspicions: despite your doubts, my Duke, I believed Laanorath possessed critical knowledge concerning Eluthienn’s fate and the Ecclessius’ involvement in it. His capture, as you will discover, dispels any notion of the rogue prince’s survival; the absence of Eluthienn even as Alstgaar fell and Fiondagaard marched across eastern Ravinica confirms his demise. It appears this weapon is of immense, ancient power, unseen since the days of Redcrosse, a threat capable of overturning our ambitions in Ravinica and striking even Fiondagaard itself. However, opportunity accompanies dread. The underground factions fracture, weakened by the supposed vampire attack and internal strife, perhaps even civil war, as they contest this weapon’s ownership. Remarkably, Isdria spoke of the Gyre Gates, claiming the Sorel Tan had rediscovered the means to rebuild the ancient world portals. Though I cannot yet confirm this account's authenticity, our interrogators spare no method in extracting every detail from the elf, whom I assure you endures discomfort suitable to his kind. He is, as we speak, standing manacled in the dungeons, never able to sit, afforded no respite. If true, this intelligence holds grave implications and perhaps an advantage we might exploit.
