Goldstein Test Prep Summer SSA SAT/ACT Programs • Shady Side Community and Accolades – Goldstein Test Prep is the only college preparation program in Pittsburgh run by Shady Side graduates. Founded and operated by Mike Goldstein (SSA Class of 2003, UPenn Class of 2007), Goldstein Test Prep works with between 60 and 70 Shady Side students every year. Goldstein Test Prep was recently selected by CBS Local as one of the top SAT/ACT preparation programs in the region. • Options – We offer group courses, private tutoring, and combination programs for both the SAT and the ACT. Every family receives a free consultation and ongoing support to determine which tests might be best for students to pursue. While small enough to have individual relationships with each of our families, Goldstein Test Prep is big enough to offer flexible options and find the right program for each family. Please see our group course options on the next page and private tutoring options below. • Ongoing Support – During each program, students receive a detailed day-by-day and week-by-week study plan so they know exactly what they need to do to solidify their gains and continue to improve. Additionally, after their initial SAT or ACT program, students will be welcome to attend any subsequent classroom course of the same type at no additional charge. If you enroll in one ofour programs, we are with you until you get the scores you want. Students are also welcome to take an unlimited number of practice exams. • Elite Teachers and Mentorship –Goldstein Test Prep features a team of passionate, committed, life-long educators who are deeply invested in their students' success. We hire full-time instructors for our tutoring and group courses. As a result, our instructors are immersed in both the tests and the tutoring process. All instructors have scored in the top percentile of test-takers nationwide and achieved an impressive number of accolades. Excellent communication skills and a drive to help others are also essential qualities we look for in each of our instructors. Having successfully navigated the college admissions process and gained admission to some of the top programs in their fields, our teachers are in a unique position to act not only as instructors, but also as mentors to their students. • The Right Approach – We explain to our students how each question type is designed to test them on a very narrow set of skills, specifically step-by-step thinking processes. By pulling back the curtain on the SAT and ACT, we seek to empower our students. We also review every concept they will encounter on each test. When we go over the best approaches to every question type, our students develop a clear system for each section and know exactly what to expect on test day. • Financial Aid Opportunities – Founded on the belief that quality test preparation should be available to everyone, Goldstein Test Prep will be offering generous financial aid opportunities to SSA families who receive financial aid from the Academy and who wish to attend courses at Shady Side or any other Goldstein Test Prep location. If you are interested in learning more or applying for financial aid, please contact Mike Goldstein at mike.goldstein@goldsteintestprep.com or 412-874-7645.
