One winner in each category will receive a one-year family membership to the MSV ($90 value), a package of McDonald’s® gi􀀂 cards, two tickets for a free movie at the Alamo Dra􀀂house Winchester (free popcorn, too!), and Marvelocity-related merchandise from the Museum Store. One entry per person. To be eligible to win a prize, you must bring (or mail) your completed coloring sheet to the Guest Services Desk in the MSV galleries building by 5 p.m. on 􀀃ursday, December 28, 2023. 􀀃e MSV is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday (closed on Monday, 􀀃anksgiving, and December 24 & 25) . Contest winners will be contacted on December 30. 􀀃e six winning entries will be on display in the MSV Lobby on December 31. About This Year’s Picture: Race into 2024! Color or paint this picture that celebrates New Year’s Eve and the special MSV exhibition Marvelocity: 􀀂e Art of Alex Ross. 􀀃e drawing was inspired by characters from the Marvel Universe on view in Marvelocity, the New Year’s Eve apple drop in Old Town Winchester, anda 2.4-mile family fun run scheduled for New Year’s Day on 􀀃e Trails at the MSV. At the MSV through February 18, 2024, Marvelocity presents the original art of world-famous comic book artist Alex Ross (b. 1970). For nearly 30 years, Ross has revitalized classic superheroes into 􀀄ne art by illustrating characters including Spider-Man, Captain America, 􀀃or, the Black Panther, and many others. 􀀃e MSV exhibition includes more than 40 original paintings, lifelike three-dimensional head busts, and several of Ross’s childhood drawings. Marvelocity: The Art of Alex Ross was developed by the Bess Bower Dunn Museum of Lake County and the exhibition’s MSV display is sponsored by Shenandoah Oncology P.C. and iHeartMedia Inc. MA R VE L O C ITY T H E A R T O F A L EX R O S S Celebrate First Night at the MSV! Visit the MSV on New Year’s Eve! From 10 a.m. until 5 p.m., admission is by donation to the galleries, Glen Burnie House, and gardens on Sunday, December 31. Free family-oriented entertainment, including face painting and magic shows will be o􀀅ered, too.
