First Derivative ATR-FTIR Spectroscopic Method as a Green Tool for Quantitative Determination of Diclofenac Sodium Tablets (Version 2)

First derivative attenuated total reflection Fourier transform infrared (ATR-FTIR) spectroscopy is presented as a rapid, green quantitative approach for diclofenac sodium tablet analysis. The method quantifies diclofenac sodium by first-derivative band area in the CO stretching region 1550–1605 cm−1. Validation includes assessment of specificity, linearity (0.2–1.5 w/w%), detection/quantification limits, precision, accuracy, and data treatment. Tablet excipients show no interference, with recoveries meeting pharmacopeial expectations. The technique is nondestructive, low cost, and suitable for routine dosage-form testing.
