Esotericism in Western Culture examines how rejected knowledge and counter-normative perspectives shape understandings of history, worldviews, and knowledge production. The work traces a short history of such rejection, highlights internal Eurocentrism, and develops concepts of esoteric practice, modernization, and transdisciplinarity. It also addresses the global importance of esotericism through an academic framework that links theory to concrete historical dynamics and intellectual claims.

Every day, while walking the streets ofthe city, he has weird experiences and disturbing encounters. He is afraid. Everything feels alien, the world seems very strange. Yet other people just appear to be going about their business without noticing anything out of the ordinary. The young man writes in his journal that for some reason, he doesn’t understand why, he is learning to see. Everything affects him more deeply than it used to do and leaves lasting impressions that he cannot ignore. Something is changing his life. But to what purpose?
