I selected these words as most relevant to the UConn Migrant Farmworkers’Clinic. I cut out the most technical terms and also the most common terms (such as arm – el brazo) . I highlighted words that are used very frequently at the clinics. There are likely words/phrases that are specific to the Spanish-speaking patients treated at the clinics that are not in this list (for example, regional or slang terms) . If you come across such words, please email me and I will include them. Please remember that in Spanish it is a common courtesy to use “Usted” and the usted conjugations with strangers and older people; for example, with the farm workers.
