DMV-349 code sheets provide structured coding options for crash reporting and investigation, capturing locality development levels, predominant land use, road surface and weather conditions, and lighting at the scene. The sheets also define variables for contributing circumstances (non-motorists, roadway factors, and driver actions), occupant/non-motorist types, vehicle and seating positions, demographics, protection and air-bag status, trapping and ejection, and injury outcomes. Additional sections include names and addresses requirements and vehicle towing details, supporting later follow-up updates and analysis.
