Decoding Derrida and the Post-Structuralist Shift - Transforming abstract literary theory into functional architecture

Sep 22, 2026

Decoding Derrida and the Post-Structuralist Shift explains how meaning emerges from difference rather than a fixed center. It traces the move from strict Structuralism toward Post-Structuralism and the resulting critique of hierarchies created by logocentrism, speech over text, and definitive conclusions. Core ideas include différance, infinite deferral, aporia as suspended judgment, and the Engineer versus Bricoleur archetypes that model rigid method versus adaptive use of available resources.

FAQs

How does the text describe how meaning is formed?

Meaning emerges exclusively out of difference. Concepts exist only through their opposites, and establishing a center point triggers inequality.

What are différance and aporia in this document?

Différance shatters fixed definitions by infinitely delaying meaning, while aporia forces the system into a state of suspended conclusion by deliberately withholding resolution.

What is the difference between “The Engineer” and “The Bricoleur”?

“The Engineer” operates within rigid, pre-planned methodologies and relies on sanctioned tools and mathematics. “The Bricoleur” works without foundational methodology, using whatever immediate resources are available.
