FAQs

What is “Coordinated Fire” and how does it work in this Tau ruleset?

Coordinated Fire lets certain units order up to two other formations within 15cm (that haven’t acted and aren’t broken) to follow their lead when they take an advance, double, or sustained fire action. A single initiative roll is made for all formations; failure adds a blast marker and forces a hold action on the calling formation, while passing allows the formations to take the specified fire action and fire at the same target.

When is a hold action required during a failed Coordinated Fire initiative test?

A hold action is required if the initiative test for Coordinated Fire is failed. The original formation that calls for coordinated fire receives a Blast marker and must take a hold action, while the other formations remain unaffected and may act later in the turn.

What are Markerlights in the Tau special rules section?

Markerlights are devices carried by many Tau infantry and vehicles that allow the user to electronically mark enemy targets.
