FAQs

What must be submitted for the ‘full’ and ‘outline’ planning permission application forms and fees?

A completed application form and the appropriate fee are required. The guidance refers applicants to a planning applications fee calculator for help determining the correct fee.

What drawings and plans are required as part of the application?

The checklist specifies original and 3 copies of plans and drawings, including a location plan, existing and proposed block plan, elevations, floor plans, site sections/finished floor and site levels, and roof plans where appropriate. It also requires scales and key metric dimensions or a scale bar.

Which supporting documents may be required and when?

Supporting documents depend on the development and its impacts. Examples include an Affordable Housing Statement for qualifying housing numbers and areas, Air Quality Impact Assessment where the site is in or near an AQMA or related designations conflict, Archaeological Assessment for certain archaeological interests, Biodiversity/Geological Survey and Assessment Report for protected species or features, and a Design and Access Statement as a statutory requirement for defined development types.
