Careers Newsletter Edition 15 December 1, 2023 Dear Students, Parents and Staff, This is the ﬁ nal Aquinas Career News for 2023. However, all previous editions for this year are available to Parents and Students on the Aquinas Careers website available through both SIMON and PAM in School Links under ‘Careers Pathways and Subject Selection’. If Year 12 students contact the Universities regarding their results and course preferences, Selection Teams will be able to give them a rough idea of the expected ATAR and Subject Adjustment scores that could allowselection into the courses they have listed on their VTAC Preference List. Selection Team members are also able to suggest alternative courses which lead into similar ﬁelds of study. This year’s Year 12 Students are reminded that we will be able to assist with information regarding changing their VTAC course preferences from 9amon the 11 to the 13 December and we can be contacted by the email or phone details listed below. Just note that any changes to your VTAC Change Of Preference Course List needs to be completed well before the COP closing time of 4 pm. Best wishes to all! Students can book into these events now. They are excellent in giving students a good idea of their likelihood in receiving a Course Offer with their VCE results. If you share your results with them, they are also able to assist in estimating any extra points that can be added towards your ATAR from Subject Adjustments or SEAS that you may be entitled to. The Student Selection Team of each university is well placed to advise Year 12 students on ● their probability of receiving an offer for a particular course on the basis of their current results and ● recommending the pathway courses available at that university which would be most likely to transition into their chosen area of study. Asking two questions would assist in gaining extra information quickly about the course in question in the context of the results the student
