FAQs

How do players win in Calico™?

Players take turns until their quilt board is completely filled with patch tiles. They then count points from completed design goal tiles, cat scoring tokens, and button tokens to determine the winner.

What is the difference between beginner setup and standard setup?

Beginner setup focuses on using specific cat scoring tiles and matching tokens, along with a simpler approach to assembling available tiles and player design goals. Standard setup separates cat scoring tiles by corner dot counts and prepares three chosen cats before starting the drafting and placement flow.

How do Design Goal Tiles score points?

A Design Goal Tile scores based on how the six surrounding patch tiles satisfy either its color requirement or pattern requirement. The tile can be completed twice—once with colors and once with patterns—and players receive only the higher point value.
