Bonnie Prince Charlie - The Right to be King

Sep 28, 2026

Bonnie Prince Charlie traces the Jacobite claim to the British throne, beginning with Charles’s grandfather James I of England and the exclusion of Catholic James II from power. It follows the rise of James II’s son, labeled “The Pretender,” and the spread of Jacobite support across Scotland, England, and Ireland. The narrative covers the succession after Queen Anne, the 1715 rebellions, their suppression, and the Pretender’s failed return to France, leading to the next generation, Charles Edward Stuart.
