Discover the epic tale of the Blood Angels Space Marines in this comprehensive collection! The world of Baal is threatened by the monstrous Hive Fleet Leviathan, but Commander Dante must also confront an ancient curse-the Black Rage that afflicts his fellow warriors. As they fight to defend their home and overcome the xenos threat, can the sons of Sanguinius resist the darkness within themselves? This omnibus by Guy Haley brings together four novels: Dante, The Devastation of Baal, Darkness in the Blood, and Angel of Mercy, as well as a bonus short story, "Redeemer" . Explore the lore and legends of the Blood Angels as they face impossible odds and battle against their own inner demons. Will they emerge victorious or succumb to the darkness that threatens to consume them? The compacted chapters of this collection reveal the magnitude of the stories within. The first three books, focusing on Dante's series, delve into his past and present narrative. The Tyranids' advance towards Baal results in a massive battle that nearly destroys the Blood Angels. Guilliman arrives with the Primaris Marines, and following the battle, Dante takes over, introducing the new Space Marines against the curse of the Blood Angels. The trilogy's first book, Dante, starts strong with a compelling narrative that alternates between Dante's past and his preparation for Hive Fleet Leviathan. The story sheds light on the Blood Angels' flaw, their recruitment process, and Dante's backstory, which is arguably the novel's strongest aspect. The book sets up the Battle at Baal effectively, cementing Dante's position as a favorite character. The second book, The Devastation of Baal, follows the Tyranids' final approach and the battle for Baal and its moons. Initially, the author was not impressed with this book but found it improved as the story progressed. The narrative showcases the destruction caused by war and the Blood Angels' losses. Dante remains a central figure in the story, making tough decisions and facing challenges. The multiple viewpoint characters add depth to the novel, including Seth, whose perspective offers a different view of Dante. The arrival of a demon on one of the moons before confronting a lone Space Marine chapter master adds tension to the story. Dante's eyes wander, reliving memories as he reads through Dante with faces and moments from his past surfacing. After a pivotal battle, he's taken to Lord Gulliman, and for an instant, his mind plays tricks on him. In that fleeting moment, he mistakes one of his soldiers for his human father. As an elderly, aged warrior, Dante has witnessed the passing of many comrades, yet he remains steadfast in his duty to fight on. Book 3, Darkness in the Blood, concludes the Dante Trilogy with a compelling narrative. The story is divided into two parts: the first delves into Warhammer 40K's main plot, while the second explores Dante's backstory. As Chapter master, Dante faces new challenges, though some plot threads are left unresolved, like Lorenz's fate. The second part of the book focuses on Mephiston, who becomes overwhelmed by his growing power and must decide whether to live or die. His transformation into a Primaris and regaining control over his abilities is crucial, but it also introduces uncertainty about his future. Book 4, Astorath Angel of Mercy, highlights Astorath's introduction as he plays a minor role towards the end of Darkness in the Blood. The book centers on the Imperium near the great rift, exploring its impact and the Primaris' struggle with black rage. Most of the story is spent tracking them down and offering mercy. The final part of the omnibus includes the short story Redeemer, which feels like a condensed version of the previous novel. It serves as a bonus rather than a compelling reason to purchase the omnibus. \#
