May 1943 issue of BLACKFRIARS containing tributes and editorial reflections centered on Cardinal Hinsley. The late issue, explained by wartime production conditions, praises his straightforward English Catholicism and Christian influence on non-Catholics. It introduces the theme “The Poor in Spirit,” arguing that true security lies in reliance on the Father’s will and that greed, covetousness, and the glamour of “Enterprise” distort modern life and contribute to social conflict.
