Four sample bilingual lessons are presented as a teacher’s guide to help educators develop their own bilingual programs for Spanish-speaking preschool children. The lessons combine Spanish and English teaching materials centered on early-childhood concepts such as colors, community helpers and workers, farm animals, following oral directions, geometric shapes, and comparing more or less. Additional themes include opposites, body parts and functions, relative positions and sizes, family roles, safety to and from school, sea and zoo animals, simple counting, weather and seasons, with supporting stories, songs in Spanish, and visual aids.
