FAQs

What is UCAS and what does it provide to applicants?

UCAS is the Universities and Colleges Admissions Service. It manages applications and offers and provides advice on courses, universities, apprenticeships, internships, graduate jobs, and related events.

How are UCAS predicted grades calculated?

UCAS predictions are calculated using teacher prediction plus two subgrades, then converting the result to a whole UCAS grade. Examples in the session show how different teacher predictions (H/M/L within each grade) lead to specific UCAS outcomes.

What are the key UCAS and student deadlines mentioned in the timeline?

Key points include the 15th October UCAS deadline for Oxbridge and Medicine/Dentistry/Vets applications, the 13th November final draft to the tutor, the 20th November student deadline to finish, pay (£28.95), and send the application, and the 15th January 2026 final deadline to UCAS.
