FAQs

What are the eligibility requirements for admission to B.Com. (Hons.) with ACCA, UK for 2020-21?

A candidate must have a minimum of 50% marks in the relevant pre-university/higher secondary (10+2/intermediate) examination (any discipline) or an equivalent from a recognized board. The candidate must also qualify in UGAT/GAT or the GITAM Institute of Management online test (GOT).

How does the Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) apply to the programme?

CBCS is introduced for the admitted batch starting 2015-16 based on UGC guidelines to enable student-centered learning, cafeteria approach, course choice, learning at one’s own pace, and inter-disciplinary learning. Learning goals/objectives and outcomes are defined for what a student should be able to do by the end of the programme.

What are the attendance and evaluation rules in the programme?

For each semester, if attendance is less than 85% across all courses, the student cannot attend the end-semester examination and cannot register for the subsequent semester, requiring repetition of the semester. Attendance shortages between 66% and 74% may be condoned on genuine medical grounds with payment of the prescribed fee, subject to the Vice Chancellor’s decision. Evaluation for theory uses continuous evaluation (40 marks) and semester-end examination (60 marks), with passing conditions requiring an aggregate of 40% and a minimum 24 marks (40%) in the theory component at semester-end; practical/project-based courses are assessed under continuous evaluation.
