FAQs

How do players set up their fleets before starting Battleship?

Players apply the Battleship labels to the case lids, detach the ships and plane, and divide red and white pegs into storage compartments. Each player secretly places five ships and one plane horizontally or vertically on the ocean grid and fits two pegs into two holes for each piece.

What happens when a player calls a shot coordinate?

On a turn, a player calls a coordinate by letter and number (e.g., D-4). The opponent must respond with hit or miss, and after recording the result the turn ends.

How do players determine when a ship or plane is sunk and how do they win?

A ship or plane is sunk once all its holes are filled with red pegs. The game is won by sinking the opponent’s five ships and one plane before the opponent sinks yours.
