An old man had four sons. They were always arguing and fighting with one another. Many times he had pleaded with them to live in peace with each other but they still fought. Then the third one tried. Then the fourth one tried. None of the brothers could break the bundle of sticks. Bawo a dukuwa uzi ya funga fukuni. Waye ava akuni moja ya kula ambiya, "Avasani nam djerebu dukuwa nkuni yaho. " Moja wana adukuwa kavasi ndizro. Wana wa vili a dukuwankuni yahe haraka wajaow. Piya a dukuwankuni haraka swafi. Their father cut the vines that held the sticks together. He gave a stick to each son and said,"Now try to break the stick. " One son broke his stick easily. The second son broke his stick easily.
