Azure Dev Tools for Teaching Access Troubleshooting Guide - Fix Microsoft Account sign-in and email linking

Nov 2, 2026

Azure Dev Tools for Teaching access depends on using the same user account as the Kivuto webstore and ensuring it is linked to a Microsoft Account (MSA). Students can be redirected to create an MSA if needed. When sign-in fails, resolve by creating an MSA with a university email or switching to the university email if available. If an existing Microsoft Account is used (e.g., for Xbox), verify identity, add the university email, and then sign in again using the university email for access.
